Bohning Ferr-L-Tite Hot Melt

The Bohning Ferr-L-Tite Hot Melt provides a reliable adhesive for arrow building and repairs. It creates a strong bond for points, inserts and outserts on aluminium and wooden arrow shafts.

Bohning first developed Ferr-L-Tite in 1946. In fact, it was the company’s first product. Archers have used the formula for decades for installing arrow components.

Ferr-L-Tite works with aluminium and wooden shafts. Bohning does not recommend this version for carbon arrows. For carbon shafts, choose Bohning Ferr-L-Tite Cool Flex instead.

The adhesive has a melting point of 350°F or 176.7°C. It requires an open flame during installation. Once the adhesive returns to room temperature, it reaches a full cure in around five minutes.

Ferr-L-Tite also offers the advantage of a heat-reversible bond on aluminium shafts. Heat allows you to remove or replace components when required. This makes future arrow maintenance and point changes easier.

Application is straightforward. First, clean the component and shaft thoroughly. Hold the point or insert with pliers and carefully warm it over a small flame. Then, heat the adhesive until its surface becomes glossy.

Apply the adhesive around the component and insert it into the shaft. Rotate the component during installation to spread the adhesive evenly. Finally, allow the arrow to return to room temperature before use.

Each stick contains 12 grams of adhesive. You only need a small amount for each component, making one stick suitable for multiple arrow-building and repair jobs.
